Community Hub Cook
Location: Popley Fields Community Centre, Carpenters Down, Popley, RG24 9AE
Hours: 5 hours on every 1st and 3rd Thursday in the month
Hourly wage: £14 to £15 per hour, dependent on experience
About the role: The Community Hub is open every 1st and 3rd Thursday in the month in Popley Fields Community Centre and is a vital link, giving older members of the local community an opportunity to meet others. We are looking to provide a delicious, nutritious, affordable, hot lunch that is freshly prepared for the older vulnerable people attending.
Responsible for planning, purchasing, preparing, cooking and serving of a 2-course meal for up to 40-50 people. To work with and support a small team of volunteers, who will be supporting you in your role.
We are looking for:
- An excellent communicator with good listening and speaking skills.
- Good cooking skills.
- Warm, caring, patient, empathetic, approachable and trustworthy.
- Punctual and reliable with the ability to stay calm.
- A good team worker, methodical and well-organised.
- Would suit parent with school-aged children looking for a small part-time job, or someone retired looking for a part-time paid job.
