Basingstoke NeighbourCare is a
voluntary organisation that offers support and assistance to
those in genuine need throughout the Basingstoke area.
Help requests include taking people to medical
appointments, accompanying them on shopping
trips and befriending . . in fact,
anything a good neighbour would do!
With volunteer drivers we assist older, infirm people to get to
medical appointments, do shopping and socialise. Without this
life line they could not remain in their own homes. Not seeking
medical advice could result in severe pain and discomfiture and
eventually extra burden on health services. Our clients trust us
to be with them over the journey so they have confidence in
undertaking what would otherwise be stressful outings.
Those in need call the helpline where the team manage the
request by matching it with an appropriate volunteer. The arrangements
are made and the task is completed.
The Charity is governed
by a group of Trustees. All those involved in the governance are
volunteers - freely committing their time and energy to
NeighbourCare. The admin team is a group of committed part time office
staff working together with many volunteers.
Donations are crucial to keep the charity funded. If you
would like to make a donation or help with fund-raising
activities please get in touch.
